Happy Birthday To My Business!

My Business Anniversary

It’s My Business Anniversary

Skyler Anne Photography is officially two years old! It feels a bit surreal to think that it has already been two years. Whether you’ve been following since the beginning or you’re new around these parts, I want to say thank you for your support. I love this business and using photography to help others build their businesses. Since it is year two, I have some lessons learned for new entrepreneurs and two wishes for myself.

Two Lessons Learned For New Entrepreneurs

  1. Don’t be afraid to go after new opportunities, even if it means making big changes

When I started my business, I focused on couples and had the privilege of capturing all sorts of life’s moments for my clients. I absolutely loved it! But after a year and a half, I found that my favorite sessions were the ones where I supported other women with their businesses. Since January, I’ve switched my business focus and helped women build their businesses and tell their brands’ stories visually through personal branding photography. It was scary at first, but I am grateful to have found my passion.

  2. Sometimes life gets in the way...and that is ok

There have been a few times this year I have had to take a pause on work because of things going on in my personal life. Mostly it was fun stuff, like trips, but occasionally I got overloaded. Balancing a full-time job with your business, on top of family time, volunteering, time with friends, working out, etc. means that sometimes you have to prioritize differently. I haven’t tried to be perfect about social media posting this year and that is ok. I haven’t posted blogs as soon as my sessions are complete and that is ok. Owning a business means that you are in control and finally realizing this has been a huge weight of my shoulders.

Two Business Birthday Wishes

  1. Continue to grow my client base

My clients since my relaunch in January have been inspiring, badass lady bosses, from bloggers to consultants to CEOs. My favorite part of my job is meeting women who are passionate about what they are doing and supporting and empowering them. I’m eager to work with more women in different professions, as well as bigger teams.

  2. Continue to grow my services

Since the relaunch, I’ve offered three set package for my clients. Look for new packages, coming to Skyler Anne Photography in the months to come!
